This van was my second car, I bought it from a family in Los Angeles. It was stolen previously and had been stripped of all the back walls and seats and some plastic from the cab. I needed it more for cargo so i didn't mind.

I have done about 3 trips from Tucson to Southern California with it, usually with a heavy load. I have had very little trouble with it, nothing expensive has broken. It has always had a starting problem that i believe is a bad starter relay. I have a switch wired directly to the starter to bypass this problem, (the ignition must still be "on" to start.)

I have had to fix:
$7 - Rear sway-bar bushing cover and bolt.
$3 - O2 sensor mounting bolts.
$10 - Wire, button, and connectors for starting button.
$20 - Grey primer.
$20 - Radioshack 4" dash speakers.
$4 - New battery terminals.
$2 - New fusible link
$153 - 4 New tires.
$7 - New PS hose

I had dreams of turning it into a camper and did have a temporary futon and shelves in the back, but I decided to get a 4wd Van with a less miles and better paint to convert into the super-camper. Now the van is back to cargo mode and SOLD as I have already found that 4wd Van I was looking for. (See "Yota")

The name "the racing snail" came from a trip when the O2 sensor fell out making the van sound like a hot rod.

Gold and brown is not my style.
